I think I remember my antenna being capable of picking up HD signals, so I would assume that its meant to pick up DTV signals.bicostp wrote:Do you have a DTV/UHF antenna or are you using rabbit ears? The 'DTV' antennas are designed to pick up the area of the UHF band that the signals are sent on, while rabbit ears do a mediocre job of picking up the entire VHF/UHF spectrum. Even those little bowtie UHF antennas are more suitable than old general-purpouse antennas.

Some work better than others, but those stupid commercials make it seem like you have to buy a huge vhf-uhf antenna or you'll never watch TV again. Ridiculous. I got a descent signal from a converter box with a paperclip stuck in the "antenna in" jack, and an alright signal with nothing. People should stop listening to advertisements. They lie.
Cheers,

My family doesn't. I think it's idiotic to pay for TV that still contains the one thing that makes free TV free - commercials!Harshboy wrote:Honestly, who doesn't own Cable these days?

You should still be able to pick up local Public Broadcasting type stations. I know PBS here will still be broadcasting on analog.

Oh, I know - in fact, we only had CBS and NBC still broadcasting in analog until the 12th. CBS still does, actually, but it's only how to get your TV digital-ready. I was merely pointing out that our PBS stopped broadcasting in analog, in response to Metallica Man X's post about local public broadcasting stations.
