Doofus, please try not to use the word whore around here i need to make another Admin's com forth forum
Doofus, read this before you post again

The conduct or procedure required by good breeding or prescribed by authority to be observed in social or official life -Webster's

Ben (Admin) posted this:

Hello guys/girls/robots. Obviously this is Ben. I've seen some trash being talked on this forum and questionable language as well.

Look, if people want to be profane and CURSE about everything, fine, but do it on your own time, in real life, NOT on this site.

I have gone out of my way to not use profanity in any of my stories, acticles and how-to's. It's important to remember that young kids are some of the biggest videogame fans and they're reading this stuff, too. Sure, they'll hear it in the high school locker room soon enough, but there's no need to have it here.

I believe in free speech as much or more than the next person, but I also believe in professionalism. Sure, this website is corny and talks about beer, but at the same time I always go for a 'polished' image to let people know I do these things in the most serious manner.

If anyone else would like to spends years and hundreds upon hundreds of man-hours building things, then make a popular website showcasing his inventions, only to have certain people come and make his website look like a PROFANITY-RIDDEN CLASS OF KINDERGARTENERS, let me know. I'll send the mis-behaving people to YOUR site.

I have made Black Six an administrator. I have charged him with keeping the peace. Any profanity worse than something in say, "Star Wars" and you will be warned and your message edited for content. Do it again, and you'll be deleted as a user. If you want to come back as a different user and behave yourself, fine. If you come back and cause more trouble, there will be NO WARNING and your IP will be banned.

Alright. I feel these rules are quite fair and I ask for all users of this forum to follow them. Thank you.

Thank you FDSMAN, but I'll hold my ground when I say I don't think using the word whore, when used in the context it was used, is anywhere near inappropriate. The term 'Forum-Whore' means someone who posts way too much, for no other reason than to post, and makes it a point to reply to every thread in existence in the name of increasing their post-count.

Thank you for trying to moderate the forums, but I think the moderators have everything in check, and until they say otherwise, about my use of the word whore, then I'll edit my post, but I really think something like this could've been said in a PM, instead of breaking my threads continuity.

My bad if I'm way off on this, but I don't swear, even IRL. If you care to do a post-check, I bet you'll have a hard time finding me swearing, or coming even close to it. Sorry though, if I'm wrong.

actally, i'm sorry to say this but your trying to use "that word" and i know what it means it means what it means and it always has, so as i said , or as Ben said don't use profanity, what if a little kid came on this forum and just lurked, and he saw the word "whore" and he went to his online dictionary, he got the meaning, which he didn't understand here, and he went and called a bunch of girls at his school that, than he would get a detention, his parents would ban him from the comp, and what would we have than? he would hate you and his parents, so, I hope your happy, for "saying bad things" on this forum, and try using Forum Spammer, other than "Forum-Whore"

"That word":

A person considered as having compromised principles for personal gain.

Granted that definition came after the conventional meaning, it can still be interpretted in a non-sexual manner.

If you ever want to type profanity, use pound signs (####, not UK currency), so we know what you are saying without actually saying it. (or type {bleep} instead.

Could this actually be a relevant post by me? I guess anything can happen once...

@Soundwave but still is there an advantage of using whore instead of spammer? i mean they mean the same thing, yet spammer has less of a sexual meaning if any

PC: HLS(demo CD)
GC: 007 Under Fire
N64: nothing
PS1: Nonthing

Just like pornographed and perversed can be used without sexual meaning. I use them in my school when writing about socialogy all the time :)

Because "spammer" has no sexual references added to it through pop culture, it's more appropriate. You never hear about crack spammers prowling the streets of Vegas on the 11:00 news, do you?
