TF2 Sniper and Spy updates

Post by DK » Tue May 12, 2009 3:08 pm

Finally updating the sniper with quite frankly a confusing weapon

Now gets a bow and arrow which allows him to pin players to walls. My worry is that as it doesn't have a scope, you can't snipe using it so arn't really a sniper any more :?

So it must have some immobilization and knockback. I can imagine snipers working in pairs, one shoots the arrow and immobilizes and the other headshots. Hopefully this will help decrease the amount of Weighted Companion Snipers out there. (Snipers who inch out from cover for a brief moment to only snipe other snipers in their hiding spots, instead of sniping everyone else.)

They're coming out with it awfully soon by Valve standards. Remember how long we had to wait for the Heavy and Scout packs? How unlike Valve.

And there's no 'index page' for the Sniper yet, so no guessing what's to come. :(

Having the arrow stick to the target until they respawn is funny, though.

"Now, hold on," you keep saying. "Aren't bows and arrows primitive and harmless?" Why don't you ask the dinosaurs? Except you can't, because the cavemen bow and arrowed them to death.
Valve has always been the funniest of all the game makers.

I'm drooling over the idea of a Sniper update. I just wish my damned computer didn't suck so hard...

Argg, I've still got to finish Medic, Heavy, Pyro, and Scout. Oh wait, that's all of them :(

Seriously though, I only need 5 more and I'm done with Pyro, the others I just gotta play a ton.

Yay, I've been waiting for that since the Scout update. The Arena maps look like a blast as well :D

Sneaky, sneaky. That sounds pretty useless though.

OSH-- So that WAS a decloaking Spy shoulder behind Sniper yesterday...

Spy Season.

So you get a watch that feigns death, and a watch that works like the cloak in Team Fortress Classic. (Stand still = regenerate cloak.) Oooh.

As long as we also get the sniper stuff they already mentioned...

Spy needs a crab disguise.

So I guess the Razorback doesn't work very well...

And the dead ringer is a cheap trick, but how does it work? Does it go off when you're first shot? Because it'd be pretty obvious if you shoot a spy and he instantly dies. Or does it activate with a standard right click? It just doesn't sound like it would work very well, but I guess valve will firgure it out.
Why is it that every time I post in a thread, it dies?
