I have a Dell Mini 9 running OSX with 2gb ram and 16gb SSD, pretty sexy and fits in my Buxton Bag!

Re: Netbooks
I might be the only one here with a Acer Aspire One. The computer runs most anything pretty well. It could run better if I were to upgrade it from 1GB ram, that and if I were able to get Ubuntu installed on it. Something I might be doing very soon.
As for the OLPC XO, it uses a AND Geode processor. That is a striped down x86 style chip. It is designed much along the lines of the Atom, in that it is designed for low power devices and so sacrifices some of the highend computing power. The OX does look to be a good computer, but like most people even though it's a good idea, $400 for one of them is not worth it when you can get something with 1GB ram, 120+ GB hard drive, and Atom processor, for little more then $300. If the price were down to about $200 or less, I'd buy one up as soon as I had the money.
The XO also has an issue in the it lacks a hard drive and sufficent flash ram to run Windows with out help. Microsoft with assistance from OLPC has developed a version of XP that runs from a SD card that you can put in the XO. So the hardware requirements to run Windows XP requires purchasing a 4GB SD (or HCSD) to just start the installation.

Re: Netbooks
I really want an N10J. Especially since my dad took the Eee PC and is using it for work because the power jack on his old laptop broke. So now I have nothing to play with during my commercials except my DS. And I finished GTA: Chinatown Wars. But of course, I can't afford an N10J.

Re: Netbooks
How was GTA: Chinatown Wars? I just bought it a few days ago at Wal-Mart for $20 - I had them pricematch the Best Buy ad (which is still in effect - go get it!)
I need to get on that.
Edit: based on the reviews I'm seeing, it honestly sounds like THE reason to own a DS...

Re: Netbooks
I was just at BJ's (basically Sam's Club or Costco) shopping for monitors, and they had the 8.5" Aspire One for $220. Cheapest I've seen so far.

Talking about sams club deals, they have some really cheap phones. I have a LG Incite from there yesterday for 58 bucks and the blackberries were like 50 bucks.bicostp wrote:I was just at BJ's (basically Sam's Club or Costco) shopping for monitors, and they had the 8.5" Aspire One for $220. It's a great little computer.attacknick wrote:the best netbook = powerbook g4 12"
I never thought of it as a netbook, not because of size, but because it's fully functioning!

Anything up to 13 inches I think is technically a netbook.jjhammerstein wrote:It's a great little computer.attacknick wrote:the best netbook = powerbook g4 12"

Re: Netbooks
Chinatown wars is frickin' amazing! It's a really great game, and seeing the crap that's coming out right now I think it'll be the last great DS game. It's so amazing I'm sad that I'm finished it.
