Post by mmoshkowich » Sun Apr 26, 2009 7:46 am

In 2 days I am moving to a new house and I need to pack my up my station. I am wondering how I should pack my circuitboards without static electricity. I have no anti static bags. Please help.

No antistatic bags?

Paper works. DO NOT use styrofoam or packing peanuts!

Get some anti-static bags. Ask a computer store, they probably have craploads.

Actually paper stores a static charge on its surface and is not 'safe' for electronics at all. (personally I say "whatever")

I didn't know this untill I took a tour of the company that makes the PCBs for my company. I threw a stack of paper down on a $600 board and the guy practically flipped.

Havent you ever bought a motherboard? they have big bags.
