my first game was "treasure planet". it was actually quite entertaining.

and my favorite game is probably "shadow of the colossus" or the jak trilogy

My first handheld was a GBA and pokemon crystal.

My first console was a NES and Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt (2in1). It was $10 in a thrift store, new old stock, no box or manuals, water damage probably.

EDIT: Oh wait best game, not first. I screwed up.

Gameboy Color was my first handheld, best game by far being Pokémon Gold/Silver.

N64 was my first console, and there's too many awesome games to choose from!

First game purchased was Super Mario 3 from Toys R Us. We borrowed an NES from my dads friend for about 6 years or so (later he moved away and wanted it back). Back then you took a slip up to the register and after you pay you go to a vault where they keep all the games to pick it up.

First system I ever bought was snes from walmart (super mario world/all stars pack in $126.88), split the cost with my sister.

First system was a Pong/Tennis/Badminton clone way-way back in the (very) early 80's. First 'proper' console was a Master System and my favourite game probably Shinobi or R-Type.

My first game was Dragon Warrior/SMB/Contra (can't remember which one) and my favorite games for the NES where the Dragon Warrior Series, Super Mario Series (mainly #3), Contra, Adventure of Lolo Series (mainly #2) and Wizardry:Proving Grounds of The Mad Overlord (I was a very ambitious child )

Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link was really underrated. Play a rom of it, save frequently. It's really fun.

Agreed. That's why I used the save state function. It's fun then. Still a challenge, too.
