media/emulator pc w/ a Pentium celeron minimum...... But I would like a bit more power then that 'cause I run 3DO and Sega CD games from actual retail discs and want component outputs for my TV. Any recommendations for a mobo/ processor, a vid card and what card I would need for component out? I would like to fit it into a NES if possible.

If you have any suggestions it must play 3DO- sega CD and playstation games from original discs. I already have the emulators

Re: media/emulator pc
You might want to look at a dual core intel atom board (330).

will it still fit in a 7''x7'' square? NES shell is 10x8 if I remember right.

Yes, it will. It is mini-ITX form factor. Here's a link to all of the atom 330 boards on newegg.manuba wrote:will it still fit in a 7''x7'' square? NES shell is 10x8 if I remember right.

I'm pretty sure that I have the 60W, and it works fine. That should give you more than enough power. I'll give you a link to the DVD drive I got for my NES PC.manuba wrote:Western Digital 500GB Scorpio Blue 2.5 SATA II Laptop Hard Drive

Here it is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6827151162 And you'll need an adapter for that. I can send you a link to one that I got on ebay if you want (ships from China).nevermind1534 wrote:I'll give you a link to the DVD drive I got for my NES PC.

Re: media/emulator pc
Why do you need a USB PCI card? The motherboard already has 4 USB 2.0 ports, plus a few built-in USB headers.manuba wrote:I just can't seem to find an optical drive for a laptop and one 2x usb pci?
Yes, you need some sort of power supply. The PicoPSU will work just fine.
Do you need a laptop optical drive? A desktop one won't fit? If you used a desktop drive, you could rig it up so the tray pushes the cartridge door open. like this person did with their NES DVD player:

edit: That has since been deactivated. here's all of the slim burners. You will need an adapter for SATA or IDE drives.

Re: media/emulator pc
I didn't think that a desktop drive would fit w/ mobo inside a NES, and there is a reason I ask questions like the usb. I am a n00b on computers..As I stated earlier in this topic.
