MGC (Midwest Gaming Classic) Steals and Deals!

Post by DooMGamer » Tue Mar 24, 2009 5:47 pm

I didn't get a chance to ask everyone what kinds of steals and deals they got this year, and figured it couldnt hurt to ask. Its fun hearing about the vendors shoving stuff in your face cheap on sunday.

I got three things.

1# Bully jacket 20$
(turned out it wasn't from bully should have guessed since it had konami written on it but she went half on its original price so I was happy 10$)

2# Wireless 360 Controller 25$
(was a jerk when I found it and asked them to go down 5$ so got it for 20$)\

3# ??? CD booklet 25$
(my steal of the weekend it had 44 random Sega CD and Sega Saturn games in it only 4 of which were sports and the rest were pretty rare)

Cant wait to hear what the rest of you guys got.

T-shirt for $10. No year on it, so I can wear it next year too!

Wireless keyboard (Wii) for $25. Brand new, works really well.

N64 for $5. No jumper pak or video cable, but came with power cable. Works. Already opened it.

Sega Genesis controller for $2. Never can have enough of the things.

Mario Tennis (N64) for $7. Awesome. Never really got to play it much before.

Empty Atari, XBox 360 parts free from Ben. Thank you, kind sir!

3-4 bags of swag. Free! Eating one of the peanut granola bars while typing this.

While down for the convention, I bought an original XBox with cables for $10 and an S controller for $2. Hurrah for Goodwill.

Meeting the forum members: priceless.

No, he didn't. He just created a new one a few days ago (apparently at 3 in the morning). His old one was DooMGameR.

Mini SNES with cables and 1 controller - $35
Various SNES games - ~$30
Awesome mini basketball - Free

Exactly what I left feeling like. I will not show up next year empty-handed.

Haha, I suppose I could have clarified. For those that don't know the story:

At about 1:00AM, I went to get some pictures of this one spot we drove by with marshallh and DoomGamer (G-force's brother). I'll admit, I was tired, wasn't familiar with the area, etc. so I swerved a bit (supposedly), made a U-turn, and was going 10MPH under the speed limit (no other traffic to stay with, and it didn't feel like a 45 zone). At the last stoplight before the hotel, Marshall or Tim (forget who) pointed out that there was a cop behind me. I'm sure that us looking back constantly didn't help his suspicions. Sure enough, when that light turned green, that cop turned red and blue.

Among the expected "any of you been drinking tonight?..." conversation, the cop asked what we were doing out. Not even thinking, I just casually answered (truthfully) "taking pictures." Of course, this was the LAST thing that the cop expected us to hear. I'm sure he was expecting "getting something to eat," "coming back from a party," or something. But no. Almost instantly: "PICTURES?!?" like I had said something like "We're looking for the lost ET cartridges buried in the New Mexico desert"

That was 1 of at least 4 times someone got pulled over :P

Triton: I skipped out on trying to recover my old one and took the easy route.

But I was gonna ask if youd be interested in selling that saturn controller I need one because I have everything for my saturn working and a stack of games but no controller saddest thing ive ever seen. By the way dude no problem on those games Macross is pretty fun you should try it if you havent already.

Wallydawg: No problem man you and I nearly flipped out when we found that binder together that was a steal, coincidently they also sold me my 360 controller cheap definatly going back there next year. Oh by the way man your awsome for using goozex that website is a gem in my book ive gotten so many games for utter garbage gotta love it. wish they would let you get classic stuff.

Samus: Figures you would load up on the dreamcast thats awsome, it seemed like everyone there had a specific system they were loading up on.

EAGLE5953: Amen man, hopefully they give benheck more space though barely had enough room as is.
