Re: What's the best deal you ever got on a video game?
Factory sealed Super Mario All Stars behind a giant video cabinet in my house. Turns out my dad who bought me a SNES for channukah and got me hooked on video games put it on top of the cabinet all the way in the back as a hiding spot and forgot about it because it was so well hidden. I found it yesterday when I noticed a box behind the cabinet, I don't know how it got there, but that's either a free game or 200 bucks in my pocket
I haven't been here in awhile, and looking back it's one of the worst ideas I ever had. I'm back and I'll be here for awhile, I was quite active 1 year ago and I hope to become that again.

If I were you, I would definitely NOT open it and keep it for myself. That has got to be the greatest present ever, even if it is really late.DJ711 wrote:Factory sealed Super Mario All Stars behind a giant video cabinet in my house. I have Pokemon yellow, still sealed. I also have Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt in the box with the plastic shrinkwrap, but not sealed.

My NES which was my first console was new but I guess the box was water damaged or something because it was in a plastic bag. No manuals either, so water damage is a good guess. But it had Super Mario/Duck Hunt and two controllers plus a light gun. It would have been $20 but it was half price day so it was $10. That was ages ago, back when I really wanted an N64 (finally got one last summer, BTW).

playchoice 10 arcade machine with ten games working for 40$ also a 360 elite rrod for 20 (which I fixed. took a while to figure out how but it seems to work fine now.) Let's see an atari jaguar (two controllers and 5 games) for 15$ a xbox for $40 (the were being sold new at gamestop for 150 at the time) numerous NES's for 5$ or less. A snes mini for 20 with 12 games all cords and two controllers. An iMac G3 running osx 10.3 for 10$ (I use it for starcraft at lan parties.) Zelda collectors edition for 4$ mario 64 for 2$ A psone with screen for 15$.... I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them right now... I have gotten a lot of good deals.

I found Mario Kart 64 for $5 the other day... not shabby considering it usually runs $10-$15.

They used to have a junk week type thing by us - it was great for finding good junk like that. (Side note: I picked up an Intellivision like that. Not sure where it is now.)qerkdtx wrote:I saw an xbox on the side of the road that someone was throwing out. cables too. Snatched it up. Thank you junk week.
They stopped doing that, however, which was a real shame. It was the best kind of recycling possible.

SNES with cords
2 1st party controllers
2 3rd party turbo controllers
MK II with manual
Super Star Wars with manual
Super Tennis with manual
D-Force with manual
Top Gear 2 with manual
WWF Royal Rumble CIB
Best of the Best Karate CIB
Star Fox
Joe & Mac
9 game cart dust covers
Six cart soft storage bag
All for free. It was the one in the basement of my grandma's house I played when growing up. When she moved to a smaller house, she didn't want it, so I got it. Might not be the best deal in the world, but as there's sentimental value there, it's the best to me.
