Avatars: what is with the hats?

Post by eagle5953 » Thu Feb 05, 2009 10:57 am

What is with the Santa-style hats on everyone's avatars? Is it just a winter thing? Is it just a weird meme limited to the benheck forums?

And many look similar - where is everyone getting the original image?

Maybe they are lazy (like me) to change them back to non-hat wearing avatars.
If at first you don't succeed, try try to not screw up the second time.

Santa hat-ifying your avatar is a Christmas tradition here. You can probably find the thread about it somewhere a couple pages back in F42.

Some of us are just lazier about switching back to the regular non-hat-ified one than others. (I think Spongebuell has had that one up constantly since '07.)

I see I've spurred at least one individual (bicostp) to revert his avatar. :)

I guess it's too late to Christmas-ify my avatar, but perhaps I will come up with the image anyway and just save it for next year. Or maybe I'll procrastinate...

I can't tell if you're trying to disprove SonyPortableizer, or support him...cause it's obviously an asian family celebrating christmas....but at the same time, it looks kinda out of place (probably because of the tree type being used)

Just for the lulz, why not ban the use of santa hat avatars during december and encourage it during the rest of the year?

Being the sadistic bastard I am, I have covered Frog's left eye with a Santa hat.
