Re: Guess the city!
Sorry to bump this, but I was looking at it for something else... how did you figure out the details about the parking garage and everything, though? That's always been puzzling to me...khaag wrote:Anchorage, Alaska. The picture was taken from a huge parking garage located above a limousine company. Ask me how I figured THAT one out
Also, I've been to every place I've posted a picture of.

Re: Guess the city!
The sign and some googling.
Observe:
1) http://avisalaska.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
2) Top of page: 4900 Aircraft Drive Anchorage, AK 99502
3) http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s ... 15&iwloc=A" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
4) A view of the surroundings in the picture shows mountains and a single highrise in the background. Since there are mountains the the east and water in the other directions, the picture is pointed westward.
5) In the google maps picture, you can just make out a red line, this must be the sign on the building. The picture was taken in close proximity to this sign above ground level, so it must be the rooftop right by the google pin marker.
Beyond that, I'm not sure how he figured out the part about the limousine company. I assume he's been there, since it's right by the airport.

Re: Guess the city!
Kurt's on the right track. I used the Avis Alaska clue, and typed it in in google. Found the address, typed it in in Google Maps, looked at that spot relative to where that Sheraton hotel is in the distance, and then deduced that the parking garage was the only place that you could take a picture at that height. I knew it was on top of a limousine company because I wandered around in street-view for a while.

Re: Guess the city!
Way to post something from your hometown that's in your location text field.
This one was photoshopped and isn't actually real.
That's a lie.
