They tried the magnet thing and busted it. Was worthless.

I think it's whatever the cheapest crap is, probably 87. Maybe we'll try the premium stuff and see what happens.

Really depends on the engine. My jeep seems to run smoother on 87...Go figure. As triton says my "Jeep is lazy"

Gas is not a polar molecule. It will not be affected in the slightest by magnets.

Ever hear of the placebo effect? They have something that is supposed to help mileage, so they drive a little better, they get better mileage and think it must've been the magnet.

On completely irrelevant note, I've heard good things about Volkswagen diesel engines. I've heard some people saying their older 1.5 and 1.6 diesel engines got 30-40 MPG from them

Even the newer ones are good.

My buddy's VW Jetta turbo diesel gets better mileage than my neighbor's SmartCar!

Side note: I wouldn't touch a SmartCar.

fuel milage

Post by beeps8 » Mon Jan 19, 2009 9:15 pm

DO NOT ADD ACETONE to the fuel system. It will ruin your fuel pumps, lines, fuel pressure regulator and injectors. Trust me, ive been in the business fir 20 years, Ive seen all the hacks or tricks or what ever you want to call them. They just dont work, and end up costing you more money for repairs. To increase fuel milage, clean air filter, proper tire inflation. if you want to boost it, (small percentage) buy a cold air induction kit with a K&N air filter.

switch fuel line to exhaust and you have a turbocharger in which case this is a true statement
