Schools overrate the importance of getting into your dream college. Go for a good one, but there's really no point stressing out over getting into that fancy ivy league school.
In high school, it's "no child left behind".
In college, they don't care if you even show up.
You'll want to put more effort into college than you did for high school.

Of course. Although, it is pathetic when I say that and people don't get it.Mario wrote:Was that on purpose?lifeisbetterwithketchup wrote:I applied to four schools in the fall, and was accepted into all of them

It sure seems like college these days is a big huge scam to get money (not saying it is, just seems like it)
I mean what is up with this BS, they force you to go take and pay for entry classes that have NOTHING to do with your Profession and have no significant value.
The big thing that irritates me, is people won't shut the fyck up about college in high school, I swear, this year alone we have already had like 6 or more different colleges come in and tell us how important it is for us to go and shi* like that. The big reason I don't want to go to college, I don't want to be forced to pay for a class that I don't need.
Yeah sure if I didn't have to take those lame ass entry classes, then I would be more than willing to go into some kinda IT Class.
Oh and I'm Sorry there is no reason for College professors to make as much they do, they barely do more than an average High School Teacher.
Ok I am done ranting, Colleges just piss me off.

Regarding acceptance:
They don't do it all at once. People already accepted are in the first run of people, usually the really smart people who do lots of extra curricular stuff and such. They do a few more rounds of acceptances throughout the year, and if you don't get anything by around may, you probably didn't get in. It can be nerve wrecking waiting for so long, but there's not much else you can do.

Can't say any of it isn't true, now can you?jleemero wrote:Jongamer wrote:yay! my post got completely ignored
Good, because I can't imagine a POSITIVE reply to your post.
But yeah, I will probably end up being forced to go to college the way the friggin' economy is these days.
Someone give me one good reason, why are entry classes that have nothing to do with your profession are necessary?
