Man where have you been? Our winter drumline was WGAZ State Champs in 04, 05, and 07. And our marching band has gotten Superior w/distinction at state for the past 4 years, (mabye more, I wasn't in high school 4 years ago so I don't know).exploding.monkey wrote:i guess, though ive never heard of any arching band competions...

I used to do a lot of sport, i skated, did tae kwon do and parkour
but i dont really have time for it anymore, plus im quite unfit so id take a lot of work to get back in.
Most of my exercise comes from work, lifting and shifting Amps, speakers and Mixing desks (im a Sound Tech guy). And walking, i walk to uni most days which is 45 minutes either way, if its raining i catch the bus

I am kinda lucky because the majority of DE is not awesome (except for one sophmore who jumps like 16 feet)schmellyfart wrote:Nice. Does your school have any longer poles? How long have you been pole vaulting?
My "official" personal record is 12'6" on a 13 foot either 170 or 160lb pole. I would have done better if I didn't develop a bad habit of watching the bar as I go up and deciding if I would be able to clear it or not. Thats pretty much what kept me from clearing 13 feet at state on my 14 foot 150 pole.
this is what I mean: http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseacti ... d=34089837
and heres a decent one at 12 feet : http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseacti ... d=33745098
last year was the first year that our coach let me actually practice for the majority of the season, but I have been doing it since freshman year and just stopped straight poling last year (junior year).
by the way, good luck this year I hope we both get at least what we want height wise

Yeah, having soft foam blocks and foam pits are one thing, cold hard concrete is anothergrossaffe wrote:I'm trying to get into parkour, but I gotta say its a lot harder to commit to when you don't have the benefit of mats.Extreme_Jesus wrote:I used to do a lot of sport, i skated, did tae kwon do and parkour
I guess i did more of the tricking side than pure parkour, flips are more fun than running

Oh come on exploding monkey..
Golf is not a sport, lifting weights at home is a sport, eminem is not rap.
Where do you come up with all this?
Anyways..
I'm not into sports, I just work out in a gym.
I do however enjoy watching extreme sports sometimes.

Oh, well in that case competitive chess IS a sport!Negative_Creep wrote:A sport is a competitive game, not a physical and testoroene showcase.
In that sense, just because you don't have to be Schwarzenegger to compete, doesn't mean Golf and Darts aren't sports.
I'd like to see you tell Tiger Woods and Phil Taylor otherwise.
