I'd like to design and build my own car. Either that or restore a 1968 dodge charger and have enough money to give it gas :P

If you don't build a high compression motor (so you can run the cheap stuff), and install an aftermarket EFI system to replace the carb, you might be able to squeeze about 20 MPG out of it. (A quick search brings up 18 MPG reported on a '69 with a 318, which is decent. That's what our Ranger gets.) Of course, in theory a new crate engine could get better economy.

However, you don't build one of those for the mileage; you build them because they're awesome. :P
