Xbox 360 motion sensing control revealed (supposedly)

Post by Motoman » Thu Jul 10, 2008 10:31 pm

Hmmm, its been a while....
Anyways, the long anticipated Xbox 360 motion control (named the "Darwin") has supposedly been revealed:

Here's a quote from the designer on the controllers specs:
'Darwin uses a number of sensors that allow it to know where it is (kind of like a personal GPS, but using a different kind of technology) It is self-contained, meaning what you hold is all you need, no IR strips or other devices for a reference point.'

Its not specified if this is simply a 3rd party contraption for the 360 or if its already under contract by Microsoft, hence the reason why I'm a bit skeptical as to if this device is going to be officially integrated into the 360's upcoming gaming line up.

Look out Wii? Ehhhh i'm not quite sold, (especially considering that we're not sure if this is the official controller microsoft has wanted under wraps) What do you guys think?

ehh, it could work but I doubt it. Motion controls should stay on the Wii. But it looks like this controller was made for the Wii anyway...

Fudge that. Systems with motion controls mostly just have games that are all about the controls and not enough actual content. I like games that let me be physically lazy.

considering that it seems only nintendo really knows how to make good games for motion controls, i wouldn't worry too much about it.
