"Gamehate" question.
Moderator:Moderators
"Gamehate" is the term I use to explain hatred towards a sequel of a game. Or in a lot of cases, trilogies.
So my question here is;
How many of these comments are actually coming from people who've played the first game?
For example, I'm a bit of a "New-Born" Xenosaga junkie (Took me forever to find the game...Glad I didn't give up, though). Love the gameplay, graphics, story... you name it.
I just can't see how Xenosaga Epi. II is as bad as a lot of people say.
So, when asking around I find out that...Gee...Most of these people never even played the first game. And the ones who have, enjoyed it.
How many other games do you think have been plagued by this problem, and why? Name them, and the respective console also, please.

Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Hmmm...
The Chaos Engine had a VERY unrated sequel on Amiga only that was more of a deathmatch affair than the original co-op thing on the first game (that made it megadrive and snes too... I think you americans know it as Soldiers of Fortune)
Outrun 2 on Xbox gets a lot of hate for some reason, it's not a timeless classic but it's a damn good game.
Doom 3 always get slagged off by most people who ever played Doom 1 and 2 for some reason but is a good game, on PC anyway.
Same for Quake 4.

Another game that seems to have been tagged by this, it appears, is Armored Core (Possibly my favorite giant-robot-killer-type-game ever.) for the PS1, PS2, PSP, and PS3.

The Phoenix Wright series
I can't wait for the Edgeworth game to come out, where you are the prosecutor instead of a defense attorney.
right now I am playing Apollo Justice, yet I still need to beat the first one >_<
The Phoenix Wright games have had bad press saying it is too linear and has pretty much 0% replay value, but they can suck mine

Wow, Europeans are lame then, because everywhere else, people love Starfox 64 (or Lylat Wars or whatever it is called.)sammy wrote:I guess starfox (or starwing in europe) would qualify. Lots of people hated the N64 game and it was up for cheap everywhere in stores. But I bet not many of them had played the SNES game before.
