Hard Drive Problems

Post by Nick » Thu Mar 20, 2008 4:12 pm

Okay, so I got my Windows Vista Recovery cd, and I installed it and it works, but it thinks that my hard drive only has 32gb. When I bought it, it had 120gb. I believe that it still is, but I may be wrong, or the hard drive is dead, or Windows is retarded, or I partitioned it somehow, but it keeps saying that my hard drive is almost full, when I know that I have 120gb.

So, what do you guys think the problem is?

Lots of hdds have a jumper setting to limit the drives capacity to 32gb. That is most likely your problem. Look at the jumper diagram on top of the drive (or read under the jumper pins on the board) to see what it says and set your jumper accordingly.

It's a laptop drive, if that makes any difference.

Check to see if there is another partition?
