Just found out my mom has cancer. :'(

Post by HotDog-Cart » Thu Mar 13, 2008 2:20 pm

This has got to be the worst day of my life. I really don't even know why Im gonna post this here. Probably because, I think of the benheck community as my freinds.

About 5 minutes ago, I just found out my Mom has Cancer of the large intestine. Its in its early stage, which is good. But from what a cancer specialist told her; Cancer in the intestine of a WOMAN is usually fatal.

I gotta say, Im crying right now. Any of you guys ever encounter something like this? Cancer in a CLOSE family member? Cancer in yourself?

*sigh*

 :(

Sorry, man. But thankfully they've caught it early, so there are treatment options. (I'm fairly certain they can swap out the affected portion with a tube, and chemotherapy can help.) And the doctor said "usually", not "always", so there's hope.

Sorry, man, that really sucks. It's good that they caught it early though; that makes it so much easier to treat. This must be a really hard time for you and your family. I wish the best to your family and hope treatment is successful.

Cancer takes a huge toll on everyone i know my dad had stomach cancer which as intestine cancer a very low survival rate he was one of the lucky ones to survive.

My nan also had breast cancer which we thought she got rid of and survived but then 5 years later it had gotten into her organs and she just naturally died from not eating enough (she wasn't hungry and her body didn't allow hardly any food into her)

Only advice i can give is don't think about the end result think about how she can beat it be positive around her help her out spend time with her do everything you can cause you might lose her but you might not but you should atleast be there for her

There really isn't much you can do besides help and be there for her

I hope she makes it through

My mom had the same problem. She's fine now, she had surgery, meaning she had her large intestine removed. That might be an option, but I'm not sure what kind of cancer my mom had. I really give you my support, stay strong!
