Bah. Where's the fun in that?

How about you get $100,000 donated to an AIDS foundation of your choice every time you lose. Every round has a different strain of HIV or a different disease (Anthrax, the Plague) but unless you win at least once, they don't tell you what you have.

I doubt SmashLab will make it to a 2nd season, because everyone I know hates the show, poor ratings= either the show getting better, or no show at all.

All TV these days is absolute crap other than maybe Lost, House, and Dexter.

You guys just caught onto this? TV died when Survivor aired.

Ever since, if there's ever been an "original" show, like for example American Idol, other networks (hell, sometimes even the SAME network) will make a ripoff of a few judges and the viewers "cast their vote" and whatnot.

Survivor became a hit... somehow... and then other's popped up. It's been to long to remember all the spin offs, but they don't even deserve to be remembered.

Then MTV started showing more "reality TV" shows and less music videos (and if you consider rap "music"... copulate don't even get me started)...

Then Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network decided to be more "kid friendly" (more like soccer mom friendly), and, as I think of it, "immigrant friendly" and started all these CGI or computer based cartoons teaching (teaching, BLARGH) kids other languages and how to not hurt little Billies feelings.

It will never be the same. Ever. Ever again.

I've watched Smash Lab a few times and would have to agree on its lameness.

Like the one 2 days ago with the "sand trap" thing... Completely impractical and pointless. "Yes, let's trap an armed suspect in the sand so he has nothing to do but shoot at people like a cornered animal." And of course, what happens to this elaborate system WHEN IT RAINS? And who digs out and resets the bricks? Cheaper to just let the bank get robbed!

Mythbusters builds outrageous rigs but not with the intention of making something that is "supposed" to be practical, rather just to test something.

Also Kari on MB could kick the SL girl's scientific ass.

Me too. And the Season 4 Winners: Kentucky Fried Family. I live within same county in kentucky as them.

Remeber in 2001 i think when Sci Fi made the new show, Tremors the series and even though it was their hightest rated show ever. They yanked it after the first season just becuase the wern't getting their target audience.

Seems like the only decent show now are the Judge show like Judge Judy and The People's Court. Also Stargate Atlantis, Mythbusters, Steve Wilkos Show, Who Wants to be a Millionair, AFV, and Dr. Who 8) .

I watch Jerry Springer now. That's how low TV has sunk, where Jerry Springer is more entertaining. Fresh Prince of Bel-Air rocks, I must say, but doesn't count because it's from like, 15 years ago.

TV sucks. Same repeated crap over and over again that is terribly unentertaining.

Kids shows are even worse now. We've gone form shows like Hey Arnold and Doug to shows that basically revolve around brightly colored imbeciles bumbling around for 15 minutes. Nickelodeon is dead to me, Cartoon Network is on life support.

I hardly watch TV anymore; mostly stuff like Modern Marvels, Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, Home Improvement, MASH, and a couple morning talk shows. Other than that, the media center PC takes over as my primary source of audiovisual stimulation because it has a ton of videos and games on it. (Which is even better now that it has a modern graphics card.) And we can't forget streaming media services.

I get all my news and weather on the Internet now.

Basically, if I had to pick between cable/satellite or the Internet, I would have to pick the Internet.

That's what they invented YouTube and official streaming services like Hulu for: free on-demand service and classic shows the networks are too afraid to wedge into the normal lineup. That means if you have some internet-capable device that can connect to the TV like a Wii or HTPC, you can watch TV on the internet on TV!

He is semi-right about kids shows. I never watch Cartoon Network anymore. On Nickelodeon, I watch Spongebob (most of the new ones are just stupid, no funny), Jimmy Neutron, and sometimes Drake and Josh (this is all assuming there isn't something like Mythbusters or Modern Marvels on). Then I watch Fresh Prince and Home Improvement at night on Nickelodeon (we actually hardly ever watch the news anymore, all thats on is election stuff).

Disney Channel still has some good shows. But it seems that even disney is starting to lose their creativity for their show.

I haven't watched Disney Channel in probably a year, I don't even check to see what they have on anymore. They've gone downhill since they got rid of Even Stevens (that was a pretty good show).
