I want to generate more traffic to my blog (see signature). How can this be done for little to no money?

Open your site on 50 tabs in a Firefox window, right click one of them, reload all, and BAM!, you've got 50 hits. :P
Your site just doesn't really have that much to offer. If you did something super-amazing-awesome and put it on your site, and, like Triton said, got featured on a popular site, that would do it.

Yeah I suppose content is a big thing when it comes to getting readers...

I think i'm going to keep posting my mods and such up there, but also I'm going to write articles as well. I got a lot of positive comments on my comdedic essays in another thread so I think I'll write regular articles on different things that interest or erk me at the moment.

Ya, those were great. It might even be to your benefit to make those the main thing for your site, with modding on the side.

The only real way to get traffic is with a steady stream of content. Not many people visit personal sites/blogs.

Well apparently my site got "stumbled upon" and now I just got 200 visitors. So as long as I keep my content updated and regular I think I'll be alright.

I also have to be careful how my articles are perceived. I posted my drunk driving satire, but forgot to specify that it was in fact a satire and meant to be taken humorously. I already got 2 comments saying they disagree :P Anyway, now I've specified that it is supposed to be not taken seriously. Hopefully people will read that :P

As others said its all about content. That Sega Neptune I made drained my monthly bandwidth of 5Gs in 3 days.

If you want enough traffic to crash your site, once you get some piece of content that you're pretty sure someone will like, sign up for Slashdot and post it there (although a lot of tech sites cause the slashdot effect these days).
