Well I am going up to Michigan this weekend to hang out with a bunch of friends and in the process we are going to shoot some of there guns. My friend Cory has an ak-47, mak-90, sks, and tactical shotgun (12 gauge double pistol grip).

My other friend Eric has three ak-47s, an ak-74, two Mosin nagants, eight 12 gauges, and a bunch other low caliber stuff. No pics of those but maybe when I get back I will have some. We are going to shoot some stuff up.
So does anyone else enjoy shooting rifles? Anyone got any worth sharing?

ill post pics of some of mine later but here is the list of most of what we own:
*ruger mk1 .22LR semi auto pistol, so fun to shoot!
*ruger service 6 .357 magnum revolver, wicked
*marlin golden 39A .22LR lever action rifle, with a simmons 4x32 scope, rediculously accurate, i can group within an inch at 40 yards with it lol
*stevens savage 18b .22lr semi auto, old and fun to shoot too
*replica remington m1858 new model army .44 black powder revolver, its awesome, such a well designed gun
and our holy grail of guns, an original springfield model 1889 trapdoor .45-70 rifle, perfect working condition 90+% bluing intact with the original triangular bayonet also with most bluing intact AND we have a bullet pouch for it. its better than museum quality and worth something like 2000-3000$ and has been in our family for more than 3 generations (it was issued to my great great great great grandpa(i think) when he was enlisted in the army)
also last weekend i got to shoot an AR-15, pretty damn fun gun to shoot

well, its hard to escape the fact that, at their core, guns were designed to kill, they don't really serve any other useful purpose. Granted, it could be used to kill dinner for a starving family, there's still a tone of violence associated with them, especially for those that grew up in more urban environments where there aren't a lot of hunters. My cousin was always big into guns mostly because he wanted to be a police officer (and now finally is, but only like part time or something, lol). You're friends need to stop buying junk though, get a Bushmaster AR-15 or an HK MP5 (JK, I know you don't have, like, $3000 lyring around). Personally, I just like shooting .22s because the ammo is about as cheap as BBs and shooting them does negligible wear to the gun, plus they're quiet so you don't really have to worry about hearing protection. One day I'll probably get a .22 race pistol and just wreck shop at shooting ranges.Shadeslayer wrote:Because my friends are going into the marines and they like to practice. I just love target practicing. Its just fun! Why the heck does everyone relate guns to murderers? Just because some freak decides to kill someone with a gun, all of the sudden guns are bad? I don't get it!
