Britian also has the third highest percentage of crime victims.
What that's just downright wrong!

USA Violent crimes in 2006:1,417,745
UK violent crimes in 2006 : 916,554

Hmm...do you think we should make the second one clearer before we send this off to the press?

No, what's the need? Everyone has the right to bear arms *gestures to a pair of stuffed bear arms mounted on the wall*

And those figures don't take into account the severity of the crimes. Most the UK ones are probably minor like vandalism or pick pocketing.

you have to take into account that that is the overall amount of crimes, per capita:
uk = 916,554 violent crimes with a population of 58,789,194 (2001 census)
USA = 1,417,745 violent crimes population of 281,421,906 (2000 census)
so you have roughly 50% less crime than the us with a population thats LESS THAN ONE QUARTER THE AMMOUNT OF PEOPLE so quit bragging because you are WRONG lol

1 violent crime for every sixty four people in the uk
1 violent crime for ever ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY EIGHT people in the USA
And those figures don't take into account the severity of the crimes.
it says VIOLENT CRIME right there lol

"Violent Crime" in the UK is made up largely of what's called "Common Assault" - eg someone squaring up to someone, touching someone (non sexually), tapping, pushing - minor stuff. This adds to the UK figures - hardly violent, although it is classed as such!

Your right, UK is a bull country. Chav violence is rife and it means a lot of victims. You can't say it's all minor people are being beaten to death every day :/

Children, Children. Let's all read this article and settle it for good. Canada has the lowest crime rates of them all!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_Canada
Compared to the United States, Statistics Canada data have consistently demonstrated a substantially lower rate of violent crime, but similar rates of property crime[7]. For example, in 2000 the United States' rate for robberies was 65% higher, its rate for aggravated assault was double the Canadian rate, and its murder rate was triple.
Property crime is lower than in some nations (e.g., United Kingdom, Sweden), and significantly lower than Australia but higher than in others (e.g., Spain, France). The violent crime rate (i.e., murder, weapons offenses and rape) is higher than most western European nations, in some cases more than double and in the case of rapes,
We win! :D

Went shooting today with my dad and a friend.

We shot a Colt 45 ACP gov. issue, Kimber 45, Glock, a Star 9mm, and then switched to big guns: M1 Garand, M14, and lastly semi-auto AR15.

My friend:

You can see the M1 and M14 in the case on the ground.

Now we feel like shooting a bunch of people. This country needs more gun control! </sarcasm>
