its repairable but after frame shop and replacement parts probably ~500$
No, god hates me more. You may have damaged your car but I have been stuck with a crap motherboard that randomly loses power to the USB ports for almost a year now.
Wait you think that having failing usb ports is worse than wrecking a car that you went through so much trouble over?!

Any who, god man I'm sorry. I know you went through a hell of a lot to get it in my state and that you wanted it so badly. Well, I'm sure all of these bad things happening will pay off later in life.

PS: I'm going to send you a gift (but not really )

Triton: Considered Driving School, or some kind of Accident avoidance school? Or being more careful in winter? You seem to be in an awful lot of accidents.

Triton, I know you must've been jealous from my story of me spinning in my school's parking lot and wanted to be as cool as me, but you have to remember I was only going ~10mph when I turned and had few obstacles. :P
(To everyone else that I didn't tell: I drive a 1993 Ford Explorer, which is RWD and the ABS doesn't work. Last Tuesday morning the school parking lot was completely iced over. I had to turn to go down the aisle I usually park in, so I decided I'd give it a bit of gas and drift around the corner. So I turned, gave it some gas, got pointed the way I wanted to go, but lost traction and kept going until I'd spun all the way back to the way I wanted to go again. It made my friend's day, and scared the girl I was giving a ride to.)

But seriously, its a good thing Volvo's are uber safe, at least you didn't get messed up like you did in the Jimmy. Got any pics of what it did to the trees? I want to see how big they were to do that.

Vskid: bah!

Triton: An accident every 2.5 years adds up to quite the insurance and replacement cost over a lifetime.

the big tree that i hit that did the number to the hood and fender was probably 8-10" diameter the rest was light to medium brush and some crap thrown down the ditch, and in reply to the other posts, as far as i can tell only somewhat minor frame damage, it smashed my battery and that part there, i dont think the strut towers got moved significantly nor the steering rack damaged and i did find the awol headlight mostly unscathed, will need to get new mounting hardware for it, will have a more detailed prognosis soon when we take it to the frame shop, but straightiing the frame and fixing that stuff will be 200-300$ at the most then add the cost of new headlight hardware hood fender and corner signal, livable but damn, that could have all been directed to upgrades had this not happened and yes, it stull runs, it was running when i stopped and i shut it off, no aparent damage to the intercooler or radiator but i havent poped the hood yet (its stuck)

and to those who didnt already know, about 2 years i was in a rollover accident, flipped a 95 gmc jimmy going about 45mph on gravel (no ice this time, loose gravel on the edge of the road to an unrecoverable skid and rolled once) had to have reconstructive surgery on my collarbone because of a type V acromioclavicular seperation (seperated shoulder, basically the worst you can get without bone sticking through the skin) involved 15 staples a stainless steel pin about 4 inches long and having ligaments etc reattached, the jimmy STILL RUNS! btw, but the body is gone

Seriously, John, I'm never getting in a car with you. Ever consider you're just a terrible driver? I mean, two rollovers now, both pretty much exactly the same way.

But I really am sorry you totaled the thing, I know how much you loved it. Just be lucky you're not hurt! And on the bright side, I no longer have to listen to driveling Volvo talk on AIM all day long! :P

Its not totaled, just a little under the weather. Now we don't have to listen to him talking about chopping his exhaust pipe out, instead he'll be pouting about how it doesn't look good anymore (it was a pretty nice looking car). So anyone that talks to him on AIM will still get to hear about his Volvo in some way. :P

And this one wasn't a rollover, but I think he should get something with AWD and traction control.

its not quite done yet! im gonna fix this car even if it bankrupts me (it will :( im poor) im not a terrible driver, just unlucky in the extreme! in both incidences there were circumstances beyond my control in which i failed to maintain control of the vehicle, i think i just need to go to a wide open space with no obsticals and practice! but yeah, this sucks, i might take this as an advantage and upgrade stuff tho, but it depends on how more costly it is to replace the 1990 front end stuff with later model 940 stuff and how hard it would be

This reminds me of our pontiac 6000 S/E Wagon that died a terrible death.

We were on the highway; 8 lanes, all the same direction. I'm on the righthand-front seat, with my father driving. I'm playing Sonic III (genesis) on my DS, with his laptop sitting in my lap, when this truck swerves in front of us from our right side! He was trying to get across right where we were. My dad swerved to the left to prevent us from being run over by the truck, but in the process, an SUV hit us on the side.

The entire left side jammed inwards about 9 inches, including into my dad's ribs. He had a minor fracture. However, the car was miraculously technically fine, other than jammed in doors, smashed windows, and bits of glass and a DS in my mouth (his laptop sorta survived). If he had stopped driving, more cars would have hit us. We had to drive for about 2 minutes to get to a pullover spot to call the police and ambulance.

Think; if we had had airbags, if they didn't kill my father, he would not have been able to keep driving with them in his face, which would result in MORE crashing, which would suck.

The car cost way too much to repair, so we said goodbye to it's technically still working skeleton as it was driven away. It was considered totalled, unless we replaced most of it. There was worry of the gasline being possibly damaged.

After spitting an R4 out of my mouth that had been lodged in my throat, I was otherwise ok, other than severe wiplash (damn you shoulder straps and your lack of cushioning!)

Whenever I pass that one area in Marble Garden Zone in Sonic III now with that first swinging spike ball thing, chills run down my spine.

Now, we have a nice black Volvo 940 Stationwagon. Volvo power! It is shaped a lot like our old car; I love it.

BUt what's messed up is that the SUV with a simple dented fender refused to run. Completely.

I hate car crashes. Whenever we are passing a truck on the side, I'm just thinking "Go forwards more. Bypass truck. Don't yield I SAID DON'T YIELD."

I am not talking about how much it COSTS! I am saying you will have a broken car for a month AT THE MOST and I have had random lock up's for a year now because nobody would give me a job!

Not everything is about money.
