I think I should be a senior member. I've been here for over 2 years.

You won't become one, because you're a portablizer.

What's it take to be a senior member anyway? I've been here for over a year does that qualify?

You get "portablizer" if you complete a portable, "portablizer extraordinaire" if you've done 3 or more portables, and "senior member" if you're a bum who just likes to hang around these forums :P Don't shoot me!

(demonofaj's comment: ftw!)

What I don't get is how I feel like I comment all the time, and yet my post count is only just now getting up to the 1000 range. I feel like a mute...

...and Moderator/Admin if you RULE THE WORLD!!! My title still isn't changed, y'know...

I kid, of course. :P Actually, the Senior Member title used to be for special instances in which people are here for a long time and are helpful and whatnot, but recently, it was changed to be for anyone who makes over 1500 posts, I guess just to get more titles out there.

Personally, I'm an advocate of redoing the whole title system to represent what it was supposed to be. Perhaps make a level above "Extraordinaire" for people who go above and beyond (think Turbo, Brian, c_mon), and adding negative titles, temporary and permanent, for those who have received enough warnings, get temp-banned, or are banned permanently. Also, not all titles should have to be based on portables or post-count, we could have things like "Helpful Member" titles, or perhaps general modding titles. Oh, and when we do our little competitions around here, like the bondo-off and whatnot, we could award specific/custom titles for the winners. That'd be neat. :P And get me my Global Moderator title. Huh? HUH???

Again, I kid. My point is, that's what the title system was meant to be, but it's a bit robust with our current amount of staff. Currently, we've got three active mods (myself, Sky, and Triton), with one active admin (Bic). Even sadder still, though us mods could help out with title notification and the like, Bic would have to do this whole thing on his own. So it seems unless we get more administrative help (which I don't see happening), we're stuck with mediocrity. Oh well...

Shouldn't senior member be based off of time as a member rather than post count? just being a spammy person like a few people here can easily get you like 250 posts in a month. Why hasn't your title been changed yet anyway CTFan? Why don't y'all Sky or Triton an admin and add another moderator? There are plenty of people who would be happy to take up the job I'm sure.

No no no, by more administrative help, I meant having gannon or Sparkfist back, or making more admins. You're doing a fine job, bic, I just sympathize with you having to do it all alone. :P Sorry if you took that the wrong way!

...and as the eternal mystery of how we got our titles died down. The members for the Benheck forums open up new threads to discuss the new adventures that lie before them. Like a PS3 Handheld Lawl.

I will now propose my title system that I've been working on:

Standard titles:

0-1 posts: Lurker
2-19 posts: New Member
20-199 posts: Established Member
200-1999 posts: Enthusiast
2000+ posts: Expert
4000+ posts: Custom Title

These titles will override the standard titles (except custom):

1-2 portables made: Portabalizer
3+ portables made: Portablizer Extraordinaire
User has made cool projects not portable related: Hacker
User has a lot of knowledge but has not done any projects: Helpful Member
User is annoying/breaks rules often: Poop egress

And of course the Mod/Admin titles:

Administrator
Moderator

Tell me what you think. Feel free to criticize it, I'll use your comments to help make it better and hopefully the Management will adopt it.
