Yeah, they were first created in 99 by putting cells from a jelly fish in a zebra fish, and released onto the market in 2003.

I had to go back and make sure all of my grammar was right in that :D

I did a research paper and an oral report on genetic engineering. My main topic were those little guys. Pretty nifty, I think.

Are they sickly?

I know they have fluorescent worms up north for fishing. They're basically worms living in dirt contaminated with highlighter fluid. Their blood is basically highlighter fluid with oxygen in it.
Hey, sup?

They aren't sickly. They're genetically engineered.

no, not at all. I go up north a lot (not that north, northern WI at the most) and have never seen those. how the hell did that happen?

EDIT: nvrmind, I thought the highliter thing happened by accident and they were living in the wild.

I'd like to put them in my piranha tank and turn out the lights.

They need an outside source of light to glow, black lights work if you want to make then glow at night. Now a bioluminescent fish would be even cooler, that'd glow no matter what.

Anyone seen these fish in stores (if so, where)? They'd would be really cool to have.

They had some at the local petco (fridley, MN) when I was there a couple of weeks ago. I'm not certain, but I think they were $4-5.
