One-handed controller voting thread. 56K/"DSL Lite"

Post by Kurt_ » Sat Aug 11, 2007 10:14 am

As I was gone this past week, I'm not sure if I have all of the entries. You have until the 12th (Sunday, tomorrow) to post your submission in this thread (please, one-two pictures only) before a mod polls this thread.

I would ask a mod to please do this tomorrow.

I ask the members to keep the flaming to a minimum.

Original everything can be viewed here: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php ... sc&start=0

11-Up's deserves his explanation, the rest I feel to be self-explanitory:
11-Up wrote:it works differently from other controllers as you can see, I took the shell of an old Philips universal remote and guts from a old PC controller I had. You use your right or left hand to work the second analog stick for movement, and flick the remote so the weighted first analog stick will fall down and cause Link to slash his sword. I used a PC mouse ball for the weight, as the marble shooter I originally used required too much force and the mouse ball made it easier to flick around. I mean heck, Mouse balls are just solid metal with rubber coating over them, so it makes since that they are perfect for this purpose. With the right configs and practice, you can play Halo PC with this too. Very Happy
Pressing down on the second analog stick will make him roll or open doors, and the Dpad acts as the C buttons, although I use 'UP' on the Dpad for Z targeting. This weird controller scheme takes a while to get used to, but I picked up on it in the first hour and played like I would with a regular controller.
Hey, sup?

If there are no more entries, my vote is going for Spinout's 1H-N64 Controller. It looks spiffeh 8)

I would have to say Spinout has the best. I would vote for 11-up if his had a case because I love his weight idea.
Meh, I don't post much.

If the flashing in his avatar is bothering you just hit the "stop" button on your browser and it will stop the animation. :)

Maybe because its bland and unoriginal. All you did was cut the controller in half.

So what exactly are we voting on? Bondo/looks, or originality/effectiveness? :?

No fair voting for yourself! I voted for 11-ups because it is so cool how the analog stick works. Good luck to all.
