iPod Shuffle Screen (Mod)
Moderator:Moderators
Does anyone know how to make a screen for the shuffle?
I have an idea, so bear with me:
Mod the nano to hook up to the shuffle and act as a screen. What do you think?

Re: iPod Shuffle Screen (Mod)
This really won't work without building an interface from scratch and writing your own firmware for both iPods. Besides if you have a Nano, what do you need a Shuffle for?

We defently need the WTF smilely for topics like this
Completely insane in all reality, though. To get a video signal from the shuffle, you'd need to mod the firmware and the hardware (not just talking about wiring).

Not gonna happen.
The shuffle was designed for use without a screen. You would have to rewrite the entire firmware for both ipods.
My question though is, why?

Thing is, the shuffle has no hardware support for any type of screen, let alone to play video. Also, either ipod has no data transfer method beetween the two, whats going to carry the data, i don't think usb can even be used host to host like that can it?
On a related topic, you know the little two linnes screens for use with pics right? Can you use them over a computers serial (i don't see why not) to display the cpu temp and other info? C++ all the way!
Enough with the useless topics too, though some pople are getting a little flammy here.

Parallel LCD's are cheaper and do the same thing, but serial lcd's will work too. Just hook up the right TX/RX pins and give it some power. You can even include programmable buttons on the LCD IIRC. I use PalmOrb with LCDSmartie sometimes, but my windows box is always hooked up to the internet, so the screen is usually off.Felino wrote:On a related topic, you know the little two linnes screens for use with pics right?
