My goodbye to all.
Moderator:Moderators
Hey,
I just wanted to post this thread annoucing me leaving. Recently I havn't been getting as much out of this forum as I have before, with the forum being flooded with new people asing the same questions, and people who have serious problems with grammar.
My portable has been almost finished for some time now, and I think that it will stay almost done. Who knows? I may find the time just to do that last bit, I dunno. I still want a portable, but i'm not sure if it's worth the amount of time and money i've put into this portable. My portable is a ps1p. I've spent over $700 in the creation of this portable, and it would still be quite big and chunky even when finished. I seem to have a problem with homemade stuff, that it continualy needs fixing to make it work again, and new parts. I feel that it would be the same with the finished ps1p. I can't really afford to keep buying new parts for it either. I don't even particulary like playstation, or even games! I just wanted a project to work on.
I will stop back every now and then to see what cool new mods ben has come up with, but until then, I guess you can consider me gone.
There have been some really great people on here, ones i've talked with most are
EnterTheHatrix, Triton and Skyone. These people have helped me out greatly with my portable, and without them I would have got nowhere. I hope when I stop back occasionally, I still see their names on the "Last post" part of the forum, so I know they are still here.
Thanks to everyone who has been kind, and goodbye.

I plan on a permanent stay at benheck. Portablizing is a fun hobby for me, and I could see myself doing this for many years to come.

Not shocked... I feel the same way.
The reason I stay here rather than some big modding communities is because there are very few people here, and those who are here, know their crap.
We're starting to get some noobs come and go "I'm making a laptop" and then make a second topic saying "how do I make a laptop", and then they leave.
It gets on my wick! Then again, so does the fanboyism of Ben.
The thing about modding is you need to have the guts to do something, but at the same time you need to know your limitations. I think you exceeded your limitations too early and as a result, spent a fortune on a portable that's probably only worth a fraction of its overall cost.
You could spend time doing general case mods and small hardware mods to prepare you foryour next portable....
... Until then, see you on AIM.
