NO! PSP is a real waste. The DS is better.

I don't want to make an "I'm leaving" thread, but I've sort of lost interest in this board. So if you notice that I'm gone, that's why.

in before flame war :P

anyways. I think most people here would tell you DS. I agree just cause it only costs $60 to be able to (coughpirate) play every DS and GBA game ever made

I'd go with the PSP,
1. Homebrew, N64 emulator! (sorta...)
2. Movies
3. GTA (high five JKO!)
4. It's shiny!

Meh, who cares. Chances are you'll be just as happy with either of them.

I don't see the point of having a portable that has games that need to load.

That explains your point perfectly...

It depends on what you want, homebrew out of the box (given you have a good firmware) or having to buy other stuff. It also depends on if you want to play games or watch movies.
PSP - Movies, music, a couple games (rip to memory stick so you don't load all the time), and homebrew (including a full speed emulator for almost every system up to N64, N64 is about full speed w/o sound playing Super Mario 64)
DS - Awesome games, protected screens, better battery life, homebrew if you get other stuff
Both are great systems, it just depends on what you want.

JKO-K6, you're a girl? nvm, question answered

Ever play Daxter for PSP? Not a single loading screen apparent.

I remember when some of the first load-screen-less games appeared, achieving their claim to fame by simply preloading data as a level or area was played. Once they get the hang of it (or the PSP 2 comes to market) you'll see much shorter loading screens.

Ok - Here's what the PSP has going for it -

Grand Theft Auto! (It sucks compared to the console version)
Video! (I-Pod/MP3 player)
Music! (Ditto)
Homebrew! (GP2x does it MUCH easier/better if that's what you want!)
It's Shiny! (I'm not a squirrel...)

DS = Good Games. Period. And that's all it needs to surpass the PSP in my mind. Plus it's cheaper, more innovative, and has a sleek design (The Lite). Go with the DS if you just want to play games. If you want a system that can do shoddily all the stuff I use my DS, I-Pod, and GP2x to do well, then get it.

If you like to hack stuff and what not, PSP.

If you want games, DS.

Though I haven't really played mine much since winter...

Well, I own a DS and like it a lot, however... I'm seriously considering getting an old PSP and upgrading it to 3.XX OE-C firmware. Why? You can load PS1 disc images on to a memory stick and play them at full speed on the PSP. Here's a few reasons why that's awesome:

Lunar: SSS
Lunar 2: EB
Metal Gear Solid
Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, Chronicles, Origins, etc.
Any of the myriad Street Fighter games (except SF: The Movie)
Chrono Cross
NUCLEAR

Neither. Get a GP2x. It can do everything a PSP can (well, save full speed PSX emu, but it's getting there!) and more, especially on the homebrew/emu side of things. Plus, in the long run, it's much cheaper. Not only is the cost of the unit much cheaper, but you can buy a 4 gig SD card for your GP2x for under $50 for a good one, or spend upwards $150-$200 to get a 4 gig memory stick. Having owned all three systems, I must say the GP2x impresses me most of all. The fact that the only marketing for the console is pretty much word of mouth is just astounding, and what the hardware can do is even more amazing. Give it a look-see!
