A crazy idea...

Post by cowsgoquack101 » Mon Apr 16, 2007 6:51 pm

Well during our daily craziness in band class my friend and I decided to open a movie theater. I'm not sure if we should make it a drive in theater or not, but in any case, do you have any advice on opening one?

It'll be a small one I have a few acres of land top my disposal.

Legally you couldn't show old shows like dumb and dumber unless you found the old movie reels and got promission from the director/producer. You would only be able to play movies that just came out or aren't out on dvd yet.

YEAH! You could show local films and things in such a way that everyone can enjoy them! It'd be a great way to get peeps moving, and interesting in telling hollywood to stop being stupid!

you can always just have all those nice web based films... or podcasts

anyway this sounds like something that will take a lot of principle to create and a lot of cash to keep up... mabye just a vintage arcade? with like a gazillion old cabs?

that sounds a litttle bit cheaper, you could through in a small theatre booth and mabye a resturant that sounds nice...

Well, we've come up with an idea:

It'll be a roof pretty much, I'll save up for/build a projector and we'll just have old furniture out there and we'll charge about $2 per viewing and will sell popcorn. I won't begin work on it until the weather gets a little warmer here ( month or two maybe) and we'll have it up and going. If anyone wants to donate

I Have this idea similar to yours:
Small building with a cafe, projector 50" screen, a few arcade games and one Computer.Charge 2.50 admition {less then the coffee}. play independent films and such.
Rake in about 200$ net total a day {including the machines}
Perfect hang-out
