Picked up a PSX in very good condition for 2 bucks at Goodwill.
I knew it was too good to be true though. I got home and went to plug it in and the power cable didnt fit. So, I flipped it over and turns out its a Japanese console...Will a regular PSX plug work if I shave off some of the plastic thats in the way? But! I noticed there was no warrany sticker. So I thought A) there could be a mod chip in it or B) Someone opened it up and stole or trashed parts. I look under the shielding, and there sat the beautiful mod chip
$2 For a good condition Japanese PSX with a mod chip, Not a bad deal IMO

went to the school rummage sale, according to thbe guy working there the schools basement is filled with computers, this doesnt even scratch the surface of what was there. They had this at the HS but had all 10 schools in the district there... good news and bad news:
3 PC's w w/ 1 gig hd's
5 mac's of different kinds from the 70's-1996
3 PC moniter
1 mac moniter, a second with a mac built in to it
2 5 inch floppy PC drives
1 mac floppy drive
2 mac CD drives
3 mac mice
2 PC mice
1 mac keyboard
1 PC keyboard
a LAN hub
a box full of over 200 floppies, 50 5 inch floppies, and assorted mac OSX's and a few old windows OS's.
in all it costed $10 . the most expensive thing was the box of disc's and floppies which was $2
I guess they have this every year and each year they have more than the last. well heres the bad news, and my friend said that we usually have to get there really early on the first day otherwise this would happen, to bad I didnt listen to him.
all of the MAC's were almost empty. since you can open most of them without unscrewing, some ben heath kid went around earlier and stole a whole bunch of parts... I will probably end up buying the remaining parts on ebay.
EDIT:about the MAC's, I got an apple GS2's, an LCIII, LC475, 5400/200, and a performa 6360. the PC's all had a very low hdd , the highest processor was an intel celeron, and a 64 mb RAM. I'll upgrade everything probably...

I got two PSX'es. One with a mod chip in it. And got a arcade style playstation controler yesterday from a yard sale. The system came with no cables. But I had some at home for it. Got the two PSX'es and arcade style playstation controler. All for ONE DOLLAR!!! No joke!
Both PSX'es do work. I tested them. But when the guy who sold them to me. He said the one with the mod chip did not work. So I was happy when I found out that one worked. I have never had a system with a mod chip in it before. So what do mod chips do exactly? Oh yea here are some pics( the one with the scribles on the deck lid was the one the guy said had a mod chip in it):
