GARAGESALES 2007
Moderator:Moderators
I got some amazing bargains this sunday. For a while I hadn't seen any good retro consoles anywhere. It's like they'd all disapeared. It's funny how it all works out because in one day I ended up buying three.
Bought a PAL dreamcast, With two controllers, Resident evil and another game for £5. Then I bought a ZX Spectrum 128k +2 for £10 which was great (And my second one). Then I finished off the day with a Sega Master System and lots and lots of games for just £3. I allready have one but it was worth it just for all the games. There are pictures on my blog if anyone wants to see them. (Link in my sig).

i went to maybe 7 garage sales today and didn't find anything remotely interesting. the best there was, was a super old tv and a newer dvd player. that was about it in the electronics department. i ended up not buying anything thing. the good news is that me and my friend were looking around in his basement for some electrical parts and found a snes and a n64. he gave them both to me because he never played them. (the snes is super dirty and yellowed, so i need some good way to bring it back to its former glory) i also got my 2 xboxs back. one of them is softmoded and the one is going to be made into a portable. (if i can fix the bios. i messed up the softmod in this one a lil)

yea..all they sell here is baby cloths and like crappy furniture. do you guys know any good places to go to get electronics for cheap/free. i went to like 7 garage sales yesterday and they didnt have anything good at all. im thinking dumpster diving might be a better bet then those stupid garage sales. what about the good will places? are they a good place to find stuff? michigan is terrible.
Good Will and other thrift stores are usually pretty good, the only problem is that pricing is way out of wack sometimes. Dumpster diving is gray line on legality, especially with identity theft and that. Some places will give you permission, so check Blockbuster and game stores and see if they'll let you swim in their dumpster, I've heard they throw away some good stuff.specter539 wrote:yea..all they sell here is baby cloths and like crappy furniture. do you guys know any good places to go to get electronics for cheap/free. i went to like 7 garage sales yesterday and they didnt have anything good at all. im thinking dumpster diving might be a better bet then those stupid garage sales. what about the good will places? are they a good place to find stuff? michigan is terrible.
I think he was kidding about the dumpster diving.vskid wrote: Dumpster diving is gray line on legality, especially with identity theft and that.
