Video Game Stores

Post by Sir Games-A-Lot » Fri Feb 02, 2007 10:11 am

More specfically, are their any left that that haven't been eaten by gamestop?

We have a few Gamecrazy's here in CT but that's all I can really find (google local has been very un-helpful, it can't seem to distinguish between video game stores and adult video stores ).

So is anyone lucky enough to have a favorite store near them, and do they know of any good stores in CT/MA?

Flea Market vendors are your friend, well usually, check goodwills for older stuff, but you really are gonna have a hard time beating the prices on used games at gamstop, since they give so little for 'em, and I work there...Employee discount PWNs though

I think there's a Play & Trade in the Walpole Mall (Rt. 1 in Walpole MA, by one of the Rt. 27 intersections). I haven't been in there in a while, though.

But depending on where you are it's a ways away.

Oh, you're in CT! Where in CT are you? Where I live, we have a GameCrazy, but other then that, no we have nothing not eaten by GameStop. Target and Walmart sell video games, but they're not video game stores.

If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.

In Ohio there's some places called "The Exchange". I'd say it's about two thirds music and dvds, and a third video game stuff. You can find some pretty good stuff there, but their prices are usually outrageous.

In Ft. Collins, there used to be a fantastic store called Game Force. They shut down for reasons I don't know, though. A small part of me died when I found out.

Did you guys have Rhino Video Games? I heard that place has pretty cool, then they were eating up by the Gamestop. They clearanced all their old games so they had some sweet deals to get rid of all their old stuff. I was gonna go but the closest one was in Iowa.

Right on the shoreline (beach is about 10 - 15 min walk from where I live), but I usually don't like to be more specific than that online.

I actually discovered 3 stores I've never heard of using various online map searches:

"Shakespeare's Video Works": Sells video games acording to the review on yahoo

"Manny's Video Games", no website no description

"Galaxy Of Games", No website, no description. There seems to be one in Wisconsin as well.
