Podcast 12 Listener Questions

Post by benheck » Thu Jan 25, 2007 11:13 am

Hey let's do a mailbag for Podcast Episode 12! I sort of enjoyed it last time, whenever that was.

Please list your questions in this topic, limit 1 per person. Put the question itself in bold.

Please do not beat the following dead horses:

1) us being biased towards Xbox 360
2) us not sucking up to the wii

Other than that, go nuts! Topic closes on Sunday.

First post! 8)

Why havn't you made your own Gamecube Portable?
I mean you made a Xbox 360 Laptop, PS2p, and a Xboxp, why no Gamecube? Heck you even said yourself you played GC more than the Original Xbox, and I've seen quite a few other people make GCps.

And dont blame the Fat Optical drive.

Yeah that's a good one. The basic answer is the same reason as the Dreamcast (disk drive to gosh darn thick) but I'll answer it on the podcast.

Well as the Wii is backwards compatible with the Game Cube, Ben has in essence made a Game Cube portable. If he wanted he could throw a GC disc in there and play Mario Party 1-7, if he ever had a desire to commit suicide.

Also Ben you need to cool it on the 360, we all know it owns all other game consoles currently. We don't need to be told it every podcast.

And the Wii, come on, it's got enough problems with out having the stigma of "Not approved by Ben Heckendorn" label on it.

Really I just couldn't help but put that in there.

I thought we cooled it down considerably in the last podcast. The only time it got brought up was in the games section and briefly during the HD-DVD segment. And I don't believe we talked about how great it was in either instance. So that's what... 1 out of 11?

But he did make it portable. Surely that must count for something.

BEN: Do you think game-dedicated commercial handhelds still have a place in an increaseingly convergence centric market, and if so will they continue to hold that place?

Ben: What is your job? In your PopSci article it said something about graphic design, but you've never mentioned it here.
