Target Wii-cator EDIT: CAMPERS=NO AT MY TARGET! CHECK YOURS!

Post by CronoTriggerfan » Tue Nov 07, 2006 7:16 pm

Some of you may already know, but someone has exploited a leak by Target (over on the IGN boards) and has created a program to tell everyone the number of Wiis that will be available at any given Target in their area. The locator itself, a new, snazzy version, is right here, and the accuracy of this system has been confirmed by many Target team members, most notably the source here. Looks like this thing is gonna be just as big as we thought it would, especially with all the security measures they seem to be taking.

Anyways, I thought it would be a fun little game to, in addition to your comments on the locator and Target's security/launch system, to tell everyone how many Wiis your Targets have.

Highest: Troy, MI; 210
Lowest: Eastland, MI; 24
The one I'm going to: Auburn Hills, MI; 60 (but now I may have to make the hike over to Troy to guarantee my success!)

I'm so pumped for this now! Good luck!

lol
well, here's some corrections for you. Tickets will be handed out at 7 am along with soda and popcorn (our store is thinking of doing hot chocolate instead since it will most likely be cold).

Haha, no doubt it will be for us, gannon! You moreso, but it's still pretty damn cold down here as well...

But I'm going to Target this weekend, hopefully they can provide some more detailed info about how they're gonna run this deal. I think I'm gonna show up there at around 3:00 pm on Saturday and see what happens from there.

Now that I think of it, target is just across the highway from my walmart, so if I miss out at midnight I can head right over and way until daybreak :P

omg that seems so extreme...
Most people over here don't even know what a Wii is.

They're like ignoring it... or don't they have internet?
Aaagh it's killing me :x

I know Target is a corporation, and by default I should hate them, but they've just been so dang nice recently. With the early sellings of DS lites to "leaking" the Wii launch data.

Plus, the one nearest to me gets 42 at launch. A good sign?

Target is kind of the Apple of multicategorical (hey, I think I just made up a word :P ) retail shops. I had some relatives that came here from Hawaii, a place where there are (currently) no targets. When they were here, they went to Target as much as possible, they love that place so much. Also, Target is Minneapolis based (or at least Minnesota based, not sure if they are in the city of Minneapolis) so I have to have a bit of a bias there ;)

-Super

EDIT: And my store opens at 8am... This could work... This could actually work... When do you think I should show up? Midnight?
If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.

I would say three maybe? It depends on the demand in your area.
