Ancestor of the Wii controller.... for Atari 2600 !!!

Post by jeep » Sun Sep 24, 2006 5:40 pm

While looking in my Atari stuff, I found a weird controller. At first, I though it was some kind of broken joystick. Then, I realise it was a full joystick. A quick search though me it was a Le Stick joystick with «motion sensing». From what I found, « It was a sort of 3D joystick, in that it used mercury switches to sense movement of the stick in mid-air. There was no base to this unit. The fire button is at the top of the stick, and is controlled by your thumb.» Anyway, this things completly sucks lol. I though I would share with you the FIRST motion sensing console controller

Well, I'm having a lot of fun in trying to figure out on what side I should hold it. I'm not even sure how I have to hold it. It almost random moves lol. But it still is funny as hell. Maybe I should post an action video «Red Steel on Wii» style ^^

I used to (still do, but not so much now that I moved) work at a company that developed CD-I stuff. I'm not entirely sure what, but I'm pretty sure that it's mostly stuff that businesses would use. Although, they did place a bid to do those games you see in a few burger kings (you know how some of them have playplaces, and a couple have games to go with it? That's what I'm talking about) There are still a few random CD-i's around there, I think I once counted 8 different units (with a chance of there being more that I don't know of)

And no, I don't think they're for sale ;)

I'll be honest with you - I would have never guessed that.

I could have picked up a CDI with a light gun and a stack of developer demo disks for $30 at a thrift. That store was so disgusting tho that it was prolly filled with roaches/spider eggs/AIDS.

Dude, even for an diseased CDI, you still passed up a great offer! (& could of haggled it down to ~$20...)

It's prolly still there but I don't have one of those germ-free doctor spacesuits (like they used it E.T.) to venture into the store again.

Hey, over at my local flea market, inside one of the warehouses, there's this really cramped-up bookstore, with roof-high shelves that look like they'll fall over, & the walkways are only 1.5ft wide, & there was torn up green stained carpet loose-layed everywhere, & it smelled, & it looked like something out of a horror movie, but I still ventured into the place & looked around out of curiosity. The point of telling you this story? Grow some testicles, & then grow some hair on those testicles. Don't be a [cat]. :P

...but seriously, Windex (& possibly the wash & bake method, if nessicary) is your friend.
