Uh, sigs and avatars are from other sites right? That doesn't consume any bandwidth from here...

At most it increases the CPU load and the bandwidth a bit if there's text in there.

Images do not affect the bandwidth usage for this site. In the eyes of the bandwidth meter, they don't take up any more space than the URL in the image tags.

The only exceptopns are the phpbb interface images, Ben's avatar and sig, and the images on the HTML pages; they're all hosted locally.

You can probably help a lot by increasing your browser's cache, so you don't have to reload everything every time you go different pages. (I have mine set to 250 MB, maybe I'll boost it to 300.)

well thats good! i was thinking if the avatars/sigs were hosted locally that would be a KILLER amount of bandwidth

Can we please lose the frame now? It doesn't serve any purpose in the new design, and it makes it more annoying to use the forums. Please?

I do, but it's annoying to have to drag the link for the forums to the URL bar instead of just clicking it. I keep the main page bookmarked because I only visit the forums occasionally. I suppose bookmarking the page that gets loaded inside the frame works, but why keep an unnecessary frame?
