Ben's video game movie!

Post by CronoTriggerfan » Thu Aug 10, 2006 9:58 pm

Someone made a thread on Ben's new portable, so I figured this is a ligit thread too! What do you think he'll do it on? I'd like to see a Chrono Trigger, FFVI, or Kingdom Hearts movie, but knowing Ben, I think it'll be Castlevania. What do you think the movie will be based on?

I think Metroid would be awesome, but it would require too much 3D animation. Unless anyone here is EXTREMELY good with Maya or something, I doubt it could be done.

Plus, I think some Japanese director still has the rights to a Metroid movie or something...

A (good) Super Mario Bros. movie, now THAT would be awesome!

I doubt the movie would be put in to theater, or liscensed DVD in that case.

I gotta say thumbs up to Pong!

Zelda would be pretty cool, haven't you seen that one fanbase trailer?

I think you're missing my point. If someone were making a videogame movie, I would direct it for $1.

I wouldn't make it independent or any of that. Still, why don't they (Hollywood) get a true videogame fanatic (and movie-making buff) to do something for a change?

Well, IIRC the movie rights to Metroid were sold off awhile ago, can't remember who bought them though. If they did make it I'd hope that they got Stemage to do the music though :P

It would be sweet if we all pulled our cash and bought the rights to some sick franchise and made a movie of it. We (or most of us) have the passion for games to create such a think, not to mention some talent in the technical arena!

That movie still causes me to confuse the names "Diane" & "Daisy"!

Like Shenmue? Sega may sell it cheap, with Yu Suzuki.

God must not be as rich as I originally thought.

Sure we all want Hollywood to do that, but they feel that they need a "Great" director to translate the story in a way that everyone can enjoy it. The problem is that one it doesn't work, what is the best video game movie? Two when it comes to these movies do we care who was the director or excecutive producer? No.

Hollywood's still full of doped up junkies and until they get back to their roots.... I'd say of 50 years ago. We can't expect real works of art out of them.

And Ben just change the name for something like Legend of Zelda. I really think you could do that, doesn't need much CG special effects.
