Time Crisis on MY(?) TV.

Post by demonofaj » Sun Jul 30, 2006 11:01 am

Well, not to brag, my family recently purchased an LCD Rear Projection HDTV, and it's beau-ti-ful (component XBOX VGA :P ). And I've gotten addicted to my Time Crisis, but I wanna play with a light gun, and I found MANY guncons. So I was wondering, on those TV's, would a Light Gun work?

For the most part: No. Most lightguns work by reading a CRT's beam as it moves acrossed the screen, LCD based displays have no beam, so the gun can't read anything. However, there is the LCD TopGun which uses a completely different method to tell where it is pointing that will work with any display:

It SHOULD work, as I have a LCD TV, and my lightgun for duckhunt works on it.

Official: Help AJ buy thread!

Post by demonofaj » Sun Jul 30, 2006 4:28 pm

Well, I made this thread to know about Time Crisis Guncon working on that kind of TV, but I'll need to know something else too (including the TC). I recently acquired 40 dollars and I want to purchase something that can be to my liking. I would like something PSP related, and am deadlocked between GTA: LCS or Burnout Legends. I like them both...a lot, and now I'm making it up to you...just can't pick. Can you guys also recommend great action/shooters for XBOX or PS2 at 40 or below, also about SW: Battlefront 2 on PSP (how is it?) and the Time Crisis thing, thanks guys.

There's a small handful of universial light guns out there to select from. Do some Googling and you ought to be able to find one that works with any display, and also works on PS2, XBox AND PC (USB).

I heard Battlefront on the PSP I heard was not so great, glitchy with long load times.

Hmmm.... Secret Weapons Over Normandy for the Xbox or PS2 should be cheap now, I had it for PC and I loved it. It's really more of an action/arcade game than a combat flight simulator so it's pretty easy to get the hang of it. if you don't have Battlefront for Xbox that's both cheap and fun.
