Just go for an electric. They're easier to play.

Strat

Electrics have a thinner body, thinner neck, smaller strings (which are easier to press down for guitar n00bs) and you can use distortion with them, which makes even emo bands sound like they can play!

electrics are easier to handle, easier to play, and in my opinion sound better.

Start with an electric. If you want to get an acoustic later, go for it. But for a noob I reccomend an electric.

Nah nah nah. Start out on acoustic for 6 months then get a fender. Best way to go because you start off just learning cords and basics, and an acoustic fits those needs, and it's harder to play, getting you ready for the big boy electric.

Get an electric. If you want it to feel harder to play like an acoustic, then set the action higher.

Don't waste your money on those crap guitars!!! Save up and get a fender strat or if you want to go with an acustic go for an ephiphone! Those are two really nice guitars. I have an ephiphone and love it and a crap electric. I am going to most likely get a fender later!

Yeah I'd suggest you not get either of them. Man, the way to go is to just go to a guitar store, and try out all the guitars in your price range. Personally i hate Fenders, and would suggest you just play every guitar in your price range at the store, and get the one that you think feels the nicest and looks cool(guitars just have to look cool, but some of them can be pretty gay)

And I don't think it matters which type you start wiht, I started with an electric, and yeah learning chords and stuff would help you, but wehre is the fun in that? Just get an electric, an amp(i'd suggest at least a 50 watt, any amp that is like 10watts is pretty much junk, though there are some decent 30watt Marshalls I've played on that i liked. To me it pretty much seems, the more watts, the better the amp. Though if you have the money I'd say get a 100watt Spyder by Line 6, those are nice amps, thoguh they are like a few hundred dollars.. They would last you a while.) and a distortion pedal.

Electric guitars are expencive lol. You could get a pretty nice acoustic for way less than a nice electric plus a decent amp. I mean my electric guitar was 500 bucks, and I got like a 150 dollar amp. Then my acoustic(which is an electric acoustic actually) cost me like 250 bucks. So they are a lot cheaper.
