1. It would work if the game is small enough to fit on a CD-ROM. Most PS2 games I've seen are DVD-ROMs. (700 MB vs 4 gigs, you know...) It would only be legal if it was a homebrew game. Either way I think you would need a modchip.

2. I doubt it.

3. I doubt it. Even if there was it would probably be a bunch of ROMs on a recordable disc. (that would also be illegal unless they're homebrews or have otherwise been released by thir copyright holders)

If you want to play PS2 games, just buy a PS2.

you could put a dvd game on a cd, but you have to compress videos, and delete many of them all together, compress textures, It requires some 1337 skillz which you probably don't have, and some less than legal software too, even then you have to have a modchip, or swap magic or something, soo... don't even think about it.

EDIT: How can they have Gc to ps2, or Gc to Xbox? The Gc controller doesn't have enough buttons.

Quite possible actually. I have a PlayStation to N64 adapter, anything is possible.

@Sword_Gun: Since when did adaptors have a button layout? :?

Basicly what you want is your gamecube to play PS2 games? Not gonna happen. For one the Cube dosn't have the power to play PS2 games as well as PS2 games use a completly diffrent hardware format than Gamecube games. Go buy a PS2, The adapter is gonna be atleast $30 and you can get a PS2 for $130 or a used one for even cheeper. By the time you were able to port one game too the cube (And it would never be the same as on the PS2) you could have mowed lawns and gotten a real PS2.

There's no visible name on it, but here's a picture of it:
