All overhead projectors can only fit a 15" screen and lower

Depending on the model you use the lumens aren't really an issue if the room your using isn't affected by outside light much (like a room with the curtains drawn)

I've been out of the projector game for awhile so someone please correct me but anything over 3000 lumens will be fine (id check with lumenlab or diy audio but a standard Overhead Projector will be fine).

Anything from a 5" to a 15" will work but the smaller the LCD the less size thats shown my tv is HUGE already and my projector with the 7.6" lcd still is only 2x the size of it so its not that impressive to me.

Best bet is to get a 15" pc monitor and use a pc to play games or movies on it or get one of them composite to VGA boxes like the ps2 to vga box.

Ok well like most people I don't have a wall in my house that's 15 feet or larger. Well maybe, but not one that's 15 feet TALL. So I think an overhead will do just dandy for me. Thanks for the help i'll let you know how it went.

Down in my basement I have my xbox, N64, and 14 yr. old 27 or so inch tv. My projector with be a replacement for that tv.
How much do the lightbulbs used in overheads cost, or can I use a powerful household bulb? I'm going to put a want ad on an online classifieds and I need to know if I should require it to have a working bulb.

EDIT: Durabrand Venturer PVS 1680 is the DVD player I got the screen from.

Heres where the costs is a lot, a blub for those peojectors can range from $100-$400 depending and lasts around 4000-6000 hours. THats why like my projector. It's got 10,000 Lumens, the bulbs cost $25 a peice and they last for 20,000 hours. Thats where making your own projector can be rather afordable.

Do you know how much the bulbs for overheads are? I'd have to replace the light controls to use those bulbs.

Lumenlab is deffinatly your on stop place for info on this. They have the guide which is now free and the forums are now free also (*grrrr* I payed $20 to get to the forums 6 months ago)...

Basicly all you need is a:
-LCD (Check their compatable LCD list) $150~
-A lamp $90~
-A Reflector $5~
-A projection lense and two frensel lenses $60~
-And a fan $5~

Of course theres more too it than that.

Gonna run you around $400 depending if you buy the LCD new oe get it off eBay.

That will work fine, I managed to find a dirt cheep lamp that was almost the same (Just about 5x the size). That kit also comes with wireing switches, fans and an AC adapter for the fans as well as a really high quality UV filter.

You can do it on the cheep but when you get that you kit you don't have to go looking for stuff besides a LCD and some wood.
