Cool! Flashlight that dosent need batteries!

Post by Dr. KillGood » Wed May 17, 2006 6:25 pm

I was at the mall and went to the "As Seen On TV" store.

I saw this flashlight it was see-through? No batteries? No room for batteries?

I turned it on and it worked! I asked a employee and it uses a magnet and some coiled copper wire to make electricity! It is cool and 10 buks so I bought it! I am always playing with my dads Maglight (w00t Maglight!) and using up the batteries!

All you do to make it work is shake it!

But I forgot about the magnet and set it near the monitor... It turned it all blue and I was like SHI!!!! But it was fine after I moved it away.

Is that a joke? Or are you serious? It looks like a home fixed firework.

Back on-topic, couldn't the power producing section of the flashlight be used to charge a capacitor for low power applications, like a light for your bike (put the manget thing on the pedals).

It's supposed to be a wheel. Apparently he didn't look at his picture too much, so things get confoozing

When you've resorted to name calling, you've lost the battle :|

Doubley so if that battle was pointless in the first place. A battle about spam, too...you loose three out of two, guys.

Yes they are great, I have the knock off brand of those. Unfortunately I'm not even sure they actually need shaking at all, you see I took mine apart and there are two button cell batteries neatly hidden inside the case between the circuit board and the LED. Now they could be rechargeables, (charged by the magnet/coil/board) but I have not had time to examine the circuit board in detail to see exactly what it's for, if anything. Would help if I weren't such a
klutz with electronics .
