Large Port Washington Torrent

Post by sam fisher » Sat Apr 01, 2006 2:39 pm

Well as PoD is the only mirror for the large torrent and it seems to have some corruption 58 minutes into the the file I have made a torrent. If you have a fully working large file please help by seeding to allow more people to download. Also currently only I'm seeding with my crappy 20kbp/s upload. Please help. Also it has no corruption and is as it was on Bens DVD.

Sam, let me know once you've got the torrent seed working, or however it works. I can then post the link on the downloads page.

So the problem seems to be people had corruption occur whilst uploading the 1.3 gig version?

It would be nice for people to see it in higher res, it's like 4 times bigger than the iPod version.

Keep me posted! Here or via email benjamin.heckendorn@gmail.com

I figured we'd have some bumps today. Big thing will be having it smoothed out by Monday (when people are more prone to get it using high-speed work connections and the like)

This is 100% working. I have checked all the error points. Only watched half of the Ipod version myself so far. Yep seems like corruption. I did a MD5 sum check on my Ipod one on the server to be sure. IF the original hosts could seed this using their CD versions that would get this thing going. Tomorrow, depending on bandwidth usage, I may start to seed the file with my server. BTW My host ABSOLUTELY HATES that as they monitor bandwidth by logs and bit torrent uses unmonitored ports so they have no real way to tell how much BW I have used. So they just shove on some outrageos amount like every hit as thought it downloaded the full file or something similiar...

Just start downloading it. then you will be uploading it as you download bits others dont have. It works out one way or another. I am doing 3 file transfers includign this torrent and encoding a video. As one of the only original few with the pure DVD version I cannot dedicate more resources to this. Hell I have two internet connections on this as it is. One of the peers is me on another pc.

It should be fine as torrented files are sent inpieces and each one is hash check agaisnt my version so it should not do any harm. See if it says hash check failed or something like that somewhere. But you may stop if you want but as I said ti should be fine so no worries.

hey - we had 5 seeders but now we are back down to 4.

people, when the torrent finishes, DO NOT CLEAR IT. let the finished torrent stay there and continue uploading.
