Hi. I LED modded my PSone screen, and it is all working of course in my PSone Portable (PlayFree), but the LED's are way to dim. I mean, there at there max output as I am running them at 3.3 volts.
It is playable, but I would like it to be much brighter...
What is a more brighter LED (lumen is it?)?
Are 12 volt LED's more brighter by any chance??
I do not want to go out to Jaycar (Radio Shack) and ask them because I cant be bothered to drive that far...
So, can someone please clear this up for me.

This is a common problem and the reason most people do the brightness mod.

Sorry, not Lumen, but mcd. Microcandella.
5mm LED's are much brighter. So I will try and fit in 4x 5mm LED's at 30000mcd
That, will make it SUPER bright!

After fiddling with an old PSone TFT LCD Screen, I cut in the bottom row, channels for 5mm LED's.
The result was that the LED's were so bright, that it looked as if there were 'beams' in the glass. You could actually see the light following to the other side.
It is worth it, but then again a lot of work and not as good as the standard CFCL tube. I may just leave it, and make a new PSone Portable later on that is flawless...
