psone screen is red

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

psone screen is red

Post by Nintendo Fanboy » Mon Aug 22, 2011 1:52 pm

hello,

i just received my psone screen (wich is an unofficial one). i tryed it hooked up to the playstation and it worked fine. i took ik apart and connected the grounds (2 grounds) and video. all i got was a red screen on wich i could very very lightly read nintendo.

i then tryed connecting it to the playstation again with only the grounds and video attached wich resulted in the red screen again. (on the psone)

these are the pinouts for my screen (tell me if you need pictures :) )
1. gnd
2. b
3. g
4. r
5. v
6. -only a wire, no marking-
7. L
8. R
9. gnd

the screen is a bigben interactive (pal, so is the nintendo and ps)

i also tryed sound but no luck (sound worked on psone)

only things i can think of is the lettering of the pinouts is wrong. or the *wire with no marking* is used for something.

please share your thoughts :D

*edit*

i also had the rgb and sound and everything connected at the same time with the same result

ok, i just took apart my psonescreen to psone connector and i found 12 pins of wich only 9 are used.

ive found this: http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/psxav.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; wich i think is the same connector.
here are the pins i have acording to the link:

1. Ground
2. Right Audio
3. Ground
4. Left Audio
5. S-Video Y
6. -
7. -
8. Video Ground
9. Blue
10. -
11. Red
12. Green

i'm assuming i can solder the 3 grounds to pinout 5 and/or 6 on the nintendo

i'l update as soon as ive connected it all :)

*edit*

the coulors make no sence at all, is this normal? :P

also sound was clear and then sometimes it went kgkggkggkggg (is this clear? :p).

please enlighten me or w/e, thanks! :D

*edit*

just fidled with it some more but still no picture.
also i have already done the cart slot relocation, but it worked fine on my tv.

Sad to say but I think this forum board is dead. I think it'd just be better to edit your posts in the off-chance that someone actually visits...

Yea, these forums are quite dead...

Mainly because theres Bacterias forums, Mod Retro forums and mine.

Why cant we just have ONE forum, called under a name that everyone agrees with?
And we have moderators / admins from each forum, so everyone is happy?
