Hey, I have found a few Global Converters (EG: http://cgi.ebay.com/Compatible-R-RM5251 ... 4153b6b0e0) that will change the plug on a Laptop LCD screen to VGA.
However, is there anyway to do it without it?
I mean, take the RGB + SYNC(s) and wire them up (Following pinouts somehow / where)? (And apply power to the backlight too)
Thanks.

No. Why do you think controller boards like this exist if not the case? Look up the datasheet of the display (there should be a manufacturer and ID code on the back of the LCD module itself), you won't find analog inputs.Haunted360 wrote:Hey, I have found a few Global Converters (EG: http://cgi.ebay.com/Compatible-R-RM5251 ... 4153b6b0e0) that will change the plug on a Laptop LCD screen to VGA.

LCD panels are digital RGB, aka LVDS. why some of them support raw DVI, analog RGB is impossible.

Re: Laptop Pinout (From LCD Screen) to VGA?
OK thanks for that.
Just wanted to be 100% sure and clear that it is not possible without a controller board.
It is a Toshiba Display LTD121EX1N.
There are also more labels, such as DD0N01LCD18 Toshiba 12.7" XGA.
But those are the main 2 I found on the back as stickers (labels).
*EDIT* Here are the links to see what it looks like. It was from a NEC Laptop. Very small, glossy and white. The screen, is like an LED screen. Very sharp and clear.
When you click on the link below, the URL in your browser will have a space in the word 'Matsus hita'. Change it with out the space (de-spaced). It is only because the forums are blocking the word s*it.

Contact the seller in the first post with that information to find out which controller board of theirs you need. Double check to make sure that they make the cable to go between your LCD and the controller.
