Question concerning LED Mod

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Question concerning LED Mod

Post by Azrael » Wed May 12, 2010 4:03 pm

Hello,

currently I am working on the "white LED"-MOD based on this tutorial:
http://www.overclock.net/1894726-post24.html

I have one question concerning the brightness-control: will it also work with the LED-MOD? If not what possibility do I have to reduce or increase the brightness gradual?

Best regards,
Azrael

The brightness control affects two things:

1. The actual brightness of the CCFL tube.
2. Over halfway up, actually changes the brightness of the video signal.

If you remove the CCFL and use LEDs, you won't notice any difference until past halfway up. This doesn't make the LEDs brighter, just changes the input signal
