I'm making an snes portable with one of them. I'm using a DPDT switch instead of a tact switch, but I'm positive it's the same principal. I just wasn't sure how it would interact with the voltage running through the switch. (7.4 V)

just extend the power switch to any momentary switch (open).
its a tact switch, you only need to bridge two of the contacts. i can wire up something on my iluv and take some pics when i get home

Exactly. I was just hoping there was a way to have it turn on with the system, but it's not a deal breaker to just have another button to turn sound on and off.

I just stumbled upon this.

Wonder if this will be any good?

Sorry about that - forgot I was in the portable section. I was looking for something for my PS3 laptop, but didn't think the original one posted would be big enough.

Ok... I'm not sure how I did what I did, but in the process of messing up the traces for the power button, then following the through hole to the other side with a wire, scraping some traces clean, and putting on a messy bit of solder next to that resistor, the thing stays on.... once I figure out how I did what I did, I'll post a how-to! But just know it's possible.

no idea. buy em and see. and make a new thread.

Bought one of these and it's insanely loud for what it is.
My problem now is trying to find some replacements for those tact switches. I'd like to use something with a button attached. Any ideas?

I just got these iLuv speakers and I need to figure out how to drop the voltage on my portable from 5v to 4.5v to power them. Should I use a resistor, and what value?
Re: The perfect amplifier/speakers to go with your small screen.
they run fine on 5 volts.

I'm getting this speaker for my psone screen because the speakers on it are broken, so I'm using the psone screen just for video (despite the fact that they are ideal for portables). Anyway, I am wondering can I power this from the 5v output on the back of the screen if I am already doing the LED mod?
